Meet Tapioca, a chunky momma with the biggest, goofiest grin! In her kennel, she's a quiet, quivering cuddle bug, trying her best to take up as little space as possible. But outside, she transforms into an investigative jitterbug, inspecting every inch of the yard! Happy talk sends her galloping and twirling with excitement before she settles in for serious cuddle time. She may start shy, but her playgroup notes prove she blossoms quickly! Meeting gentle Skippy, she initially tried to make herself small-then tossed her first play bow and never looked back. Soon she was tap-dancing around the yard, eager to make friends. She was equally thrilled to meet a female, clearly convinced everyone could be her next bestie. Give Tapioca a little time, and she'll be dancing her way straight into your heart!

Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. To help with medical costs, a $600 sponsorship for treatment is available from Friends of Wake County Animal Center. Email [email protected] for more information.

She is already spayed and up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, is microchipped and ready to go home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.

Adoption process

Visit the Wake County Animal Center 820 Beacon Lake Road, Raleigh, NC 27610 to find a pet that best suits you, your home, your family and your lifestyle. Open seven days a week, noon to 6 p.m.

IMPORTANT
Animals are adopted on a first-come, first-served basis. All animals must be met, in person, prior to a deposit being placed on the animal. No deposits will be placed over the phone.
