Description

Meet Patches - Paddy to his friends! This sweet 15-pound terrier mix is learning ALL about the good life since coming into rescue. He has a loving and hilarious personality that comes out more with each passing day. It has been such a joy to see him thrive!

This snuggly boy loves to be close to his humans and is happy as a clam when curled up under a blanket. He also loves toys (obsessed!), belly rubs, and treats of any kind. He has great house manners and never gets into any mischief. (Your shoes and phone chargers are safe with this one!) He gets along with other dogs at home and might even enjoy some canine playmates. Though he can be anxious and barky with new dogs in public, he makes friends easily when meeting new humans.

Patches is heartworm negative, neutered, and up to date on shots. He is very smart and treat-motivated, and learns routines quickly! He is house trained and goes to his kennel to sleep quietly every night. Patches will continue to thrive in a patient and nurturing home where his good behavior will be rewarded and reinforced. He can be a bit of a grump, so we think he would do best with grown-ups only or with older kids who are savvy about interacting with dogs. With regular reinforcement (and lots of love!) he will be the perfect boy for his future family.

Patches` foster family would love to tell you more about him! If you would like to learn more, please submit an application!

    Breed info

The Boston Terrier is a breed of dog originating in the United States of America. This "American Gentleman" was accepted in 1893 by the American Kennel Club as a non-sporting breed. Color and markings are important when distinguishing this breed from the AKC standard. They should be either black, brindle or seal with white markings. Boston Terriers are small and compact with a short tail and erect ears. The AKC says they are highly intelligent and very easily trained. They are friendly and can be stubborn at times. The average life span of a Boston Terrier is around 11 to 13 years. They have a short nose, which can often cause breathing problems later in life, which is what leads to a low life expectancy. The American Kennel Club ranked the Boston Terrier as the 21st most popular breed in 2019.
