Description

For Pet's Sake Rescue is a MS based rescue. Mississippi is overpopulated with many high kill shelters. For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other areas with higher adoption rates. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes. You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org. Adoption application available on our website Once we review your application and check your vet reference, we will contact you to proceed with a video chat "home visit."

Adoption process

For Pet's Sake Rescue wants to insure that every animal goes to a forever home that can provide their every need including future medical care should they ever need it. For this reason, we ask each person interested in adopting to complete an application. The application requests information about the potential family including their home and occupants, as well as requests a vet references. If you do not have a vet reference, please contact us directly at [email protected] During Covid-19 our home visits are changed to a video chat to insure safety of the animal.

We reserve the right to refuse an adoption. Most often times we know these animals on a personal level and can foresee it not being a good match for them though there are times when we have to refuse an adoption if there is a lack of comfort with the party.

Required: Completed application, photo ID with current address or an article of mail going to your current address in your name, and home video chat. We do not waive this process for anyone.

Adoption fees can be paid after you are given an approval. Invoices are emailed via PayPal. The deposit or transport fee holds your pet. Adoption fees are not refundable if you change your mind. Please be sure!

Do not complete an application if you are not sure you want a pet.

    Breed info

Calico cats are domestic cats with a spotted or particolored coat that is predominantly white, with patches of two other colors (often orange and black, sometimes gray). Outside North America, the pattern is more usually called tortoiseshell and white. In the province of Quebec, Canada, they are sometimes called chatte d'Espagne (French for '(female) cat of Spain'). Other names include brindle, tricolor cat, tobi mi-ke (Japanese for 'triple fur'), and lapjeskat (Dutch for 'patches cat'); calicoes with diluted coloration have been called calimanco or clouded tiger. Occasionally, the tri-color calico coloration is combined with a tabby patterning; this calico-patched tabby is called a caliby. "Calico" refers only to a color pattern on the fur, not to a breed or two-colored eyes on a cat. Among the breeds whose standards allow calico coloration are the Manx, American Shorthair, British Shorthair, Persian, Arabian Mau, Japanese Bobtail, Exotic Shorthair, Siberian, Turkish Van, Turkish Angora and Norwegian Forest Cat.
