Cashew - Your Little Buddy!, Dachshund For Adoption In Kirkland, Washington

Description + Description -

Cashew is a lovely, 3-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who is ready to brighten up your home with his gentle presence. Cashew is a bit cautious at first with new people, especially men, but warms up beautifully. He walks well on a leash and is fully house trained. He is mostly quiet! He’ll let you know if someone is at the door, but he does NOT bark excessively which is a rare gift in a small dog like this. Cashew is social with other dogs and would like to have friends or a small housemate he could play chase with. And OH, what a snuggle-bunny! He thoroughly enjoys belly rubs, being sung to, and generally being with his people. Cashew was surrendered by his previous owner along with 5 other small dogs. He would be an excellent addition to your loving home. The dachshund (UK: /ˈdæksənd, -, -hʊnd, -hʊnt/ DAKS-ənd, DASH-, -huund, -huunt or US: /ˈdɑːkshʊnt, -sənt/ DAHKS-huunt, -ənt; German: badger dog ), also known as the wiener dog, badger dog, or sausage dog, is a short-legged, long-bodied, hound-type dog breed. They may be smooth, wire, or long-haired. The standard-sized dachshund was developed to scent, chase, and flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature dachshund was bred to hunt small animals such as rabbits and mice. In the Western United States, they have also been used to track wounded deer and hunt prairie dogs. Dachshunds participate in conformation shows, field trials and many other events organized through pure-bred dog organizations such as the American Kennel Club (AKC). According to the AKC, the dachshund was ranked 12th in popularity among dog breeds in the United States in 2018.
