Hello, my name is Nigel. My previous owner couldn't take care of me anymore so now I'm looking for my forever home. I spent the last four years in a home with young children, and though we got along I get skiddish around loud noises so I hid under the bed a lot. My dream home will be a bit calmer and somewhere I can get a lot of attention. My favorite things are being pet, being pet, and being pet. Did I mention I like to be pet? I'm very talkative, how else would I tell you I want to be pet? I spend the rest of my time playing with string toys or finding a comfy spot to loaf. Oh! Or eating, can't forget that since I love food. In case you haven't noticed, I have long, luscious hair so I'll need to be brushed often to keep the knots away. That's OK though, I love the attention! If you think we're a good match, put in an application and let's set up a meet and greet soon!

 

Nigel  is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations,  neutered, and litter box trained.

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. Adoption process

If you are interested in adopting one of our pet you should complete an online application at www.arf-il.org. This does not commit you to adopting, but does allow the process to begin. You're welcome to send an inquiry, but fortunately our animals move quickly so the animal may be adopted by the time you inquire.

You will be screened to ensure that:

You understand the life long responsibility of adopting and caring for a pet.

All household members consent to the decision to adopt.

Adopting a pet will not result in a violation of your lease. If you live in an apartment, we do ask that you provide us with a copy of the lease or obtain a letter of approval from your landlord.

You are 18 years or older to adopt a pet from us.

The temperament of the animal you are interested in is conducive to your lifestyle and home environment.

Agree to our adoption fees*:
Dogs: $200
Kittens: 6 months and younger $150
Cats: Older than 6 months $110
Mama cats: $95

*Unless otherwise noted in pet listing or adoption contract.
