Meet Orion | The Playful Lover Boy with a Heart of Gold!
Orion lives with the confidence of a cat who regularly sleeps belly-up. Sometimes that's stretched across his foster's bed. Other times it's on top of the refrigerator, because apparently both locations make equally excellent bedrooms. Either way, Orion has never questioned whether he belongs exactly where he is. He simply assumes he does. And honestly, it's hard to argue with him.

You'll quickly understand why he's impossible not to love. Watch him investigate every corner and show off the outgoing personality that's made him a favorite in his foster home. He has a way of making himself part of whatever's happening, whether that's supervising dinner from the kitchen counters or stopping by for a friendly chat.
With a birthday of April 10, 2025, Orion weighs approximately 12 lbs and is a handsome brown tabby. As with all rescue cats, his breed is simply our best educated guess.
At just over a year old, Orion is in that wonderful in-between stage where he's left the tiny kitten phase behind but still thinks every day should include a game, an adventure, and at least one dramatic sprint through the house.
Orion has lived with his foster family since the day he was born, and that secure beginning shines through in everything he does. He shares his home with nine other cats and genuinely enjoys their company. In fact, we'd love to see him join a home with another playful feline. His older roommates occasionally decide they've had enough of his invitations to wrestle, but Orion never seems to take it personally. He simply goes looking for the next friend who's ready to play.
During our visit together, Orion was wonderfully social. Every few minutes he'd wander over, rub against my legs, collect a few behind-the-ear scratches, and then head back to exploring. He isn't necessarily a lap cat, but he absolutely wants to be part of your day. His foster's adult son often cradles him like a baby, and Orion happily accepts the attention. If you're nearby, chances are Orion wants to be nearby too.
At home, his energy comes in entertaining bursts. His foster says his zoomies aren't ordinary zoomies. They're the kind where he practically bounces off the walls.
Wand toys are a favorite, especially if they involve jumping high into the air, and bugs... well, bugs don't stand much of a chance. Orion takes pest control very seriously.
He's also delightfully dramatic in the funniest ways. Offer him a silvervine stick and he'll proudly carry it around like a prized possession. If another cat dares suggest it should be shared, Orion lets out an unmistakable little growl that says, "This one's spoken for." The same goes for any unfortunate bug he's captured. Churu time comes with its own routine too. If he thinks you're being stingy, he'll reach out with his paw and gently grab the tube to speed things along. It's impossible not to laugh because everything he does is delivered with complete sincerity.
When the excitement settles down, Orion has a softer side that's just as charming. On occasion, he disappears beneath the blankets for a cozy nap. Most of the time, you'll find him lounging in a sunny window, his tail gently thumping whenever another cat (or an especially interesting bird) passes by outside. Those quiet little moments balance out his playful personality beautifully.
Orion is neutered, litter box trained, and has excellent house manners. He isn't a fan of being confined in a crate/carrier or behind closed doors and feels much more comfortable when he has another feline friend nearby. Because he enjoys the company of other cats so much, we'd love to see him in a home where he has a playful companion. He hasn't been introduced to dogs yet, so any future introductions should be done thoughtfully.
Orion is also FHV-1 positive (Feline Herpesvirus), a very common condition in cats that's typically easy to manage. Like many cats with FHV-1, he may occasionally experience mild cold-like symptoms during times of stress, but with routine veterinary care, he can enjoy a long, healthy, completely normal life.
Orion is the kind of cat who fills a house with personality. He'll make you laugh with his dramatic opinions about silvervine and keep you entertained with gravity-defying leaps after wand toys! After spending his entire life waiting for a family of his own, we'd love nothing more than to see this affectionate, chatty boy finally become someone's constant companion!

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!
The adoption fee is $575.00 and includes all vetting: FVRCP vaccines (minimum of 2), FeLV vaccines (minimum of 2), Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, combo tested, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a health certificate deeming the kitty healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!
