Marble, Domestic Shorthair For Adoption In Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description + Description -

Marble is a beautiful adult female tabby with stunning, bold swirl markings that look like artwork painted onto her sides. She came to us as just a kitten herself—likely no more than 7 months old—already caring for a litter of kittens. Despite being so young, Marble was an exceptional mom: attentive, gentle, and devoted to her babies every step of the way. Now that her kittens are grown and adopted, it’s Marble’s turn to be someone’s baby. She is super sweet, loving, and affectionate, and she shows her love with enthusiastic head butts and quiet companionship. Marble enjoys being close to her people and has a calm, gentle presence that makes her a joy to have around. She’s ready to leave her hard beginnings behind and settle into a safe, loving forever home where she can be spoiled the way she deserves. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted cat with both beauty and soul, Marble may be your perfect match. She is good with other cats and kids...not so sure about dogs. ##2565896##Adoption processAdoption Fee: Varies Must complete adoption application and agreement All cats are required to be indoors onlyShelter locationPlease call for an appointment as we do not have a full time staff.

Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with Shorthair names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
