Meet Hazel! This beautiful senior kitty just recently returned from an extended stay in foster due to a bout of illness. Her foster had nothing but good notes regarding her stay, noting that she loves to play with anything she can get her little perfect little paws on. Sweet and sociable, this senior gal is sure to charm! This charismatic cat is one of our Special Care pets, due to chronic upper respiratory infections, but her condition is very manageable! adopt this senior sweetie today!

Adoption process

***Please Note: The "Apply Online" button to the right of the pet does not take you to the adoption questionnaire. Please follow the steps listed above and below to adopt this pet!


To adopt pets located at our adoption center, you must stop by during open adoption hours to start the process.

To adopt pets located at our partnering PetSmart stores, you must first visit the pet at the specific PetSmart store to start the process.

To adopt pets located in foster care, you must first submit an Anti-Cruelty Questionnaire (found on our website) to start the process.

To adopt pets located in our Home-to-Home Program, you must first contact the owner of the pet via the contact information provided in the pet's bio to start the process.


Adoption Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older for standard adoptions. Must have valid ID

Adoption fees are based on an animal's age and species.

Each adoption Includes:
1. Complete veterinary exam
2. Inoculations against rabies and other diseases
3. Heartworm test for dogs /Feline leukemia test for cats
4. Spaying or neutering (it's mandatory)
5. Collar
6. Lifetime ID tag
7. Permanent identification microchip
8. Dog leash or cat carrier
9. One month of free pet insurance for this important transitional period.

Shelter location

Our adoption center at 510 N. LaSalle Avenue is open daily for walk-in adoptions. Wednesday - Monday 12:30-7:30pm, Tuesday 3:30-7:30pm.
