What sets Elf apart from his 6 siblings???… Elf was and still is the smallest of the lot. But don’t let that fool you - he’s frisky. Plays hard and then crashes, (and really tough to get good photos of). Elf eagerly jumps into a wrestling match with his sibs or is on the chase for a toy. After play time he is looking to be held and cuddled until he decides it time to find his cubby hole for a well deserved nap. But come and meet all the A-G family. All 7 are friendly and love attention. They are a delightful bunch who greet you at the door, become “purr bugs” when you hold them, love toys, are great litter box users, and are fine with cat friendly dogs. They are a well adjusted group that will fit into most any home where they will get lots of attention. If you are looking for an energetic busy boy, come visit with Elf today!

** Come meet me this Saturday (7.18.26) at the Fort Collins PetSmart for our Mobiles adoption event! This event is from 10am-2pm, or until all animals are adopted!

This is a first-come, first-served event, so we recommend arriving early if you have a specific furry friend in mind. PetSmart doors open at 9am, and we will begin distributing adoption numbers at that time. Please head to the back of the store and check in at the event table.

This event operates on a number system. Upon arrival, please be sure to get your number from our check in table—groups will be called in order throughout the event.

To receive a number, you must be an approved adopter within the last 3 months. Paper applications will be available on-site, and you can also apply in advance through our website.

Adoption process

Adoptable animals are located at our Taft Campus at 2200 N Taft Hill Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80524 or for more info call 970-484-8516.

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.

Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.
