Description

Hi there! I'm Shadow, and while I might be a little cautious at first, I'm sweet, affectionate, and full of curiosity. I love to explore, and even though I take my time getting comfortable, once I trust you, I'm all in! At meal times, I get super excited and greet my foster mom with loud purrs—it's my way of saying, 'I'm ready!' I absolutely love playing with toys, especially chasing that red dot—it’s my favorite game! When I'm not playing, you can find me perched up on my cat tree, spending hours watching the world go by outside.

I’m also very bonded with my sister, Dollface. We’re a dynamic duo, and I love spending time with her—whether we’re snuggling together or exploring side by side. While I may be reserved at first, with my sister by my side, you’ll see just how playful, loving, and fun I can be!

Bonded pair adoption fee: $300, includes all shots, sterilized, dewormed, deflea, microchip

Shadow (male) and  Dollface (female) are an affectionate, bonded pair who deserve a loving home. They are shy at first but warm up with a little time and trust and just want lots of pets and love. They are extremely playful- only one year old and have beautiful tabby markings! They are cat and dog friendly too.

Adoption process

Our adopters fill out an application that screens for problems that may be detrimental to our cats and kittens. Once the adopter is approved we provide veterinary referrals which help with low cost spays or neuters for the kittens that are too young at the time of adoption. We are always available to help with behavioral issues that arise. We provide numerous information sheets in our adoption folders, plus the medical background of each cat. The only fees involved with our program are adoption fees that offset our veterinary bills.

Our adoptions are held at the Fair Lakes PETsMART in Fairfax Virginia, at the Chantilly PetsMART, at the Gainesville PetsMART, and at the Springfield PetsMART

    Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with "Shorthair" names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
