Description + Description -

Mittens is a beautiful 7-year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on March 10, 2026 because the family was moving and couldn't take Mittens and her soulmate (Creepy) to the new residence. Mittens has a black short-haired coat with a tiny patch of white on her chest, a long tail, and an adorable chubby face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. Her owner reported that Mittens is good with other cats and also with children. She is litterbox trained and has been an exclusive indoor-only kitty. Mittens was given vaccinations, flea treatment, and dewormer on March 18, 2026. Mittens and her soulmate Creepy are being listed as bonded pair since we feel that it is in their best interest to be adopted together. Mittens and Creepy are already spayed, so they could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.Adoption processOur adoption process includes an adoption application which must be completed and approved by our shelter management. We verify veterinarian references and also approval from landlords if the pet will be housed in rental property. Home visits may also be required prior to adoption. All dogs/cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee for dogs is $150.00 which includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, dog tag, microchip, and spay/neuter. Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with Shorthair names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
