Description
Do you have a free lap? Would you enjoy the companionship of an older kitty? Our senior cats for senior laps program matches older cats with seniors in Highland who would love to have a kitty friend without the extra costs or concerns. HCHS provides kitties in need, delivered to your home. Highland County Humane Society (HCHS) includes food, litter, supplies, all veterinary care, etc The cats are vaccinated, neutered, and treated for parasites. All are litter trained and acclimated/socialized to people. HCHS also provides well checks and is available for all concerns/questions. If the foster parent decides to adopt the kitty they have first choice. If not, the kitty can remain a foster for as long as suitable for the foster parent. There is a short foster agreement, and there are no fees.

Adoption process
Our adoption process involves an application, application review, and adoption fee. You are welcome to visit or ask questions about any of our animals for adoption. Animals are in foster homes and can be met there or at a central location. We encourage all members of your family to meet the potential new addition. All animals receive preventative vaccinations, dewormer and flea/tick medication. We also participate in a pre-adoption spay/neuter program which decreases possible litters as well as expedites the adoption policy for the new family!Shelter location
Our pets are currently in foster homes. Meeting times and dates, suitable to both the foster and the adopter can be arranged at any time to meet or pick up your new adoption. To contact us, please send an email or FB message to:
