Description

Tookie and a bunch of her friends were saved from Louisiana. There are so many cats and kittens in rural areas, they don`t have much of a chance to find loving homes. We work with our Rescue Partners to help give these kittys a brighter future.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFE!
Volunteers and staff are excited to assist you in the adoption process! Contact us at [email protected] or call us today at (847) 728-5434.

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO ADOPT FROM WRIGHT-WAY RESCUE:
OPTION ONE: RESERVE A PET IN ADVANCE by filling out an online application at https://wright-wayrescue.org/adoption-application-page
- Our typical turnaround time for applications is within 48 hours.
- An email will be sent to you once your application is approved. This email will include instructions on how to proceed with our reservation process.
- Please note: The location listed in an animal`s profile does not indicate where the animal is available for adoption. Almost all of our adoptions are carried out at our Morton Grove facility.

OPTION TWO: COME INTO THE ADOPTION CENTER AND MEET THEM ALL!
The adoption center is located at 5915 W Lincoln Ave in Morton Grove, IL 60053. It is open Mondays 1 pm-5 pm, Thursdays 1 pm-8 pm, Fridays 1 pm-8 pm, Saturdays 11 am-4 pm, and Sundays 11 am-4 pm.

If you want to learn more about our mission, please read here: https://wright-wayrescue.org/our-mission.

Adoption process

Potential homes should be willing to fill out an online application, or one in person at our event. We interview new adopters and place pets based on their needs and the suitability of the adoptive home. We do take "reservations" on our animals prior to our events with an approved application/ reference check.

    Breed info

Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with "Shorthair" names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
