Description

Some call me pampered, but I'm just a gal who knows what she likes. A lap to sit on? Most definitely. Endless pats? Without a doubt. A steady flow of treats and attention? Why sure, if you are offering! Joking aside, I really am looking for someone I can shower with affection. Maybe it's you?

Adoption process

Each adoption consists of an interview, application, counseling session, and adoption contract. All adoptions are handled on a case-by-case basis, but most adoptions are first-come, first-served, and holds cannot be placed in advance for someone to meet with an animal. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Shelter location

Nevada Humane Society is open seven days a week, from 11:00AM to 6:30PM. We close for an hour between 2PM 3PM to allow our shelter animals a much needed rest.

    Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with "Shorthair" names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
