Description
My name is Ameer. I may be everything you’ve heard about kittens – affectionate, playful, friendly, and happy. I was only 4 months old when my owner surrendered me to Paws and Claws because he no longer has a home where he can have a cat. I liked the children in my home ages 3-6 and had been eating poultry flavored Friskies. I love playing with people and with toys. Shelter volunteers who have played with me say that I need to work on my kitty manners. I can be rather aggressive, they say. I jump on people and nip. With patience and discipline, I can learn not to do this, but I might do best in a home with only older children. I’m a sweet, adorable boy who looks forward to being part of a family again. I need to be neutered before I can be adopted.

Adoption process
Paws and Claws Humane Society (PCHS) is a non-profit, mostly volunteer organization that rescues and shelters homeless cats and dogs until they can be adopted into their “forever” homes. We want our clients to understand that adopting and animal is a lifetime responsibility and commitment to that animal. All prospective adopters must show (at the time of adoption) a valid drivers license or other acceptable identification to verify their name, address, and age. Adopters must be 18 yrs of age. Children under the age of 12 years old need to be present at time of viewing shelter cats or dogs.
After submitting an application, there is generally a processing period of 1-3 days in order to complete all pre-adoption checks and paperwork before an adopter may take possession of the animal.
