Description

Paprika is a very sweet little lady. Unfortunately, life isn't always so sweet and it has been a struggle for her with her health. Paprika has a certain type of bladder stone which seems to have no cure, only management. In order to manage these stones, she HAS to have Hills Science Diet Urinary and Metabolic Prescription food. This is a very expensive ask, but we figured we could at least try to see if someone could be so generous out there to give her a loving home who can also provide the diet she needs. Paprika has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV/FIV which is all included in the $70 adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this cat, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays) All cats must leave the shelter in a carrier. If you do not bring one with you, one must be purchased at the shelter if available for $5.

Adoption process

Adoption fees are: Cats over a year old $70, Kittens under 1 year old $125, (ALL ADOPTED CATS MUST LEAVE THE SPCA IN A CARRIER) Dogs over a year old $155, Puppies under a year are $275. (Fees may vary depending on age, breed, if adopter adopts multiple animals, etc) Feel free to download an adoption application to bring with you when you come to our shelter by visiting our website at www.medinacountyspca.com and click on the "adopt" page.

Shelter location

We are open to the public every day of the week from 12-4 except for Mondays & Wednesdays. Besides having a shelter full of animals, the Medina County SPCA has two or three cats at the Medina Petsmart, Medina Pet Supplies Plus and Wooster Petsmart on a regular basis.

    Breed info

Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with "Shorthair" names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
