This cat came from a boat that housed a large number of cats that were all brought into our shelter's care together. Since arriving, this cat has been shy and doesn't seem used to being handled. We recommend letting them approach you on their own terms rather than forcing interaction. With time and patience, some cats from situations like this become affectionate and enjoy cuddling. Others may always prefer to keep their distance and simply observe from afar rather than seek out physical affection. Every cat is different, and it's hard to predict which path this one will take. Because this cat lived alongside so many others, they may do well in a home with another cat, or adopted together with a companion.

Adoption process

Adopters are asked to fill out a brief survey to help match them with the pet that is right for them.
Adoption fees are described at www.thehumanesociety.org click on the ADOPT NOW tab at the top. Pet license fees may also be charged. Dogs, cats and rabbits are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, and dogs and cats are microchipped, and receive initial vaccinations.
