Meet Slinky!

Slinky is a shy sweetheart looking for a patient, loving forever home. This lovely young lady feels safest in a cozy hiding spot, where she can quietly watch the world go by, but offer her a gentle pet, and she melts right into chin and cheek scratches, accompanied by some very enthusiastic purring!

Slinky has previously lived with another cat and would benefit from a confident, outgoing feline friend who can help show her that home life is safe and full of good things. Any introduction would need to be slow, thoughtful, and at Slinky's pace.

Because she is a sensitive girl, Slinky is looking for a calm adult-only home with people who are excited to help her build confidence and blossom into the wonderful companion she is meant to be. With patience, kindness, and plenty of cozy spots to call her own, Slinky is sure to come out of her shell.

Once she is settled, we expect Slinky's playful side to shine! She enjoys balls, springs, and wand toys, and she is looking for a home that can continue daily interactive play to build trust and strengthen her bond with her new family.

Slinky has her spay appointment booked for September 15 and is currently looking for local adopters who can bring her to and from this appointment on the North Shore.

Come meet Slinky at the BC SPCA West Vancouver location and discover her quiet charm for yourself! Adoption hours are Tuesday through Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. While online applications are welcome, in-person meetings are prioritized.

Adoption process

Please note that in many of our provincial shelters renters are required to bring in copies of their strata council by-laws in order to be approved for adopting.

    Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with "Shorthair" names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens).
