Description
Do you want a cat that will forever show you how grateful she is? This is Ponyo. Luckily, she had a neighbor that cared about her and witnessed her being abused and abandoned, her young kittens sold, and tossed outside like she was a piece of trash. Her neighbor took her in, hugged her and told her it would be ok. Their bathed her, gave her good food, and a comfortable place to sleep. They also gave her a name. We wish we could have done something about the abuser. The foster mom contacted us and asked if we could help find her the best home. That we can do. Ponyo is a very very sweet, loving, 2 year old domestic short hair brown tabby with the most beautiful marbled markings that have so much depth in color. She has beautiful, soulful eyes, and loves attention. She loves to relax in the sink. She gets along well with other cats, dogs unknown, and would be a great companion to any loving family. She is current on all vet care and ready for her new home! All cats are at least 8 weeks old at time of adoption, are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV tested, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies - if at least 16 wks old), and given a starter dose of flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee applies. Adoption application, interview, and home check required to be considered for adoption. No declawing policy and indoor homes only. If interested, please apply at www.rescueangelssomd.com. If pet is listed, he/she is still available.
Adoption process
Our pet adoption process is thorough and efficient, to ensure we do our due diligence and choose the best fit for our animals. The adoption process begins with an adoption application to further your interest in our dogs/cats. The adoption application is non-binding and completion does not guarantee adoption. Our adoption coordinators will contact your references and contact you for an initial interview. Once approved for adoption, we will help you coordinate a visit to the foster home or invite you to our next public adoption event. A home check, interview, and reference check is required. Your family should help decide which animal is best suited for your home and lifestyle. Please remember that this decision should not be handled lightly and we expect you to care for your pet throughout its lifetime, keeping emergencies and financial status in mind. If you think there's any possibility you won't be able to give the pet the best life possible, then please do not adopt. Our volunteers are always on hand to help answer your questions and to help you choose a pet that is right for you.
Shelter location
We are a foster-based Rescue organization, so all pets are in a loving, comfortable foster home until adopted. We do not do same day walk-in adoptions. We have a process that all potential adopters must complete. Approved adopters can meet the pets and finalize adoption after a trial period. Please check our website at www.rescueangelssomd.com and our Facebook page for information.
