Description

Hi there… I’m Patches. I’m a sweet, gentle girl looking for a calm forever home after my previous owner had to make the difficult decision to surrender me due to their health. I lived with one person and a few other cats, but I mostly kept to myself—aside from my sister, who I felt comfortable with. Because of that, I’d likely do best in a quieter home, either on my own or with a very understanding feline friend. I’m the perfect mix of independent and affectionate. I may not be a lap cat, but I absolutely love being pet and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. I’ll even follow you around and chat softly with you—it’s my way of keeping you company. I’m not a big fan of being picked up (I prefer to keep all four paws on the ground!), but I’ll let you know politely by hopping down when I’ve had enough. I do enjoy playtime too—especially chasing balls with little bells inside. They’re my favourite! I’ve always been an indoor girl and would prefer to stay that way. I haven’t been around dogs or kids, so a calmer, predictable environment would help me feel safe and comfortable. If you’re looking for a quiet companion who will be by your side, chatting softly and enjoying all the pets, I just might be your perfect match

    Breed info

Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with "Shorthair" names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
