Description

Hi, everyone! I’m Pudding, a 1½-month-old black-and-white kitten weighing nearly 1½ pounds, and I’m already pretty sure I’ve mastered the art of being adorable!

A kind family found me and tried to track down my owner, but no one came forward. So they brought me to Heartland, where I’m now waiting for my forever family to find me. I may not know much about my past, but I do know that I’m a very sweet and friendly little guy.

I might be young, but I’m already an expert biscuit maker and a certified purr machine! I love affection and am always happy to snuggle up with my favorite people for a good cuddle session. If you enjoy having a tiny companion who will happily purr away while getting some attention, I think we’re going to get along wonderfully.

I’m also doing great with the litter box, so I’m already learning some very important kitten skills. Since my history is a mystery, my friends at Heartland don’t know yet how I feel about other cats or dogs. If you have furry friends at home, slow introductions will give us all a chance to get acquainted and make sure we’re a good match.

If you’re looking for a precious little companion with a sweet personality, a love for cuddles, and a serious talent for making biscuits, I think we should meet! Stop by Heartland and ask for Pudding. I’ll be ready to purr hello!

Adoption process

Our adoption application is easy and helps staff understand the qualities you are looking for in your new pet. You can complete the adoption application online, at home or at the shelter. You may be interested in a certain animal or we can help you find good match for you and your lifestyle. Our goal is to make the best choice possible to ensure the animals’ health, safety and happiness. We also want our adopters to be able to make an informed choice and adopt the animal that is the best fit for their family.

You are encouraged to fill out the adoption application at our shelter during regular business hours. If you wish to get a head start or live out of town, please use the online link to get the process started.

For any questions, or if you wish to received an emailed form, contact Janette at [email protected].

    Breed info

Like the domestic long-haired cat, this is not a breed, but a non-breed classification of mixed-breed cats. Domestic cat (Felis catus) A domestic short-haired cat is a cat of mixed ancestry—thus not belonging to any particular recognized cat breed—possessing a coat of short fur. In British English, they are often referred to as moggies. Domestic short-haired cats should not be confused with the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, or other standardized breeds with "Shorthair" names, which are breeds recognized by various registries. Domestic short-haireds are the most common cat in the United States, accounting for around 90–95% of their number. Other generic terms include house cat and alley cat (the latter may be used more specifically to refer to feral specimens). The term tabby cat technically refers to a coat pattern, but is also often used as a general term for cats of this sort.
