Description

SWEET & FRIENDLY:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 16 lbs.

Hi there, I’m Nadeen! I’m a sweet gal who made my way to Mostly Mutts, and I’m so happy to be here getting lots of love and care while I wait for my forever home. I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and am thankful that Mostly Mutts has had that done for me.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with a dog that I like and have met other dogs that were about my size at Mostly Mutts and though I wasn’t ready to play with them, I also did not show any aggression, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers since I’m an older gal.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers say I’m an absolute love — a real cute girl who’s sweet and friendly! I walk nicely on a leash and make strolling together a joy. / Energy level: 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  Check back soon to see what I've learned. / I’m doing well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had good potty manners on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  Spending time with the nice volunteers is one of my favorite things, and I’m always happy just to be with people who show me love and kindness.  I also love going for walks and enjoying a nice ride in the car — I’ll hop right in and be ready to ride! / I wasn’t a fan of the bathing process — it was pretty scary for me, and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and Mostly Mutts had that done for me!  I also take a good over-the-counter joint supplement that I should stay on called Cosequin that is good for all older dogs.

I’m a darling girl looking for a wonderful family that will cherish me! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adoption process

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

    Breed info

The Jack Russell Terrier is a small terrier that has its origins in fox hunting in England. It is principally white-bodied and smooth, rough or broken-coated and can be any colour. Small tan and white terriers that technically belong to other breeds are sometimes known erroneously as "Jack Russells". Each breed has different physical characteristics according to the standards of their national breed clubs; size and proportions are often used to tell them apart. Some authorities recognize a similar but separate breed as the Russell Terrier – a shorter-legged, stockier dog, with a range of 20–30 cm (8–12 in)[citation needed]. However, the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) regards the Russell terrier as a sub-type of Jack Russell terrier. Jack Russells are also frequently confused with the Parson Russell Terrier. Technically, the Parson Russell is usually larger and officially limited to a middle range, with a standard size of 30–36 cm (12–14 in),[citation needed] whereas the Jack Russell is a broader type, with a size range of 25–38 cm (10–15 in)[citation needed] Jack Russells are an energetic breed that rely on a high level of exercise and stimulation. They are relatively free from any serious health complaints. Originating from dogs bred and used by the Reverend John Russell in the early 19th century, from whom the breed takes its name, the Jack Russell has similar origins to the modern Fox Terrier. It has gone through several changes over the years, corresponding to different use and breed standards set by kennel clubs. Recognition by kennel clubs for the Jack Russell breed has been opposed by the breed's parent societies – which resulted in the breeding and recognition of the Parson Russell terrier. Jack Russells have appeared many times in film, television, and print – with several historical dogs of note.
