Crysta is a happy, friendly, easygoing girl who has come such a long way and is ready for the loving home she deserves.
Crysta came to us from Texas as part of a large hoarding case involving approximately 80 dogs. When she arrived in rescue, she had essentially no hair and was heartworm positive. She has since completed her heartworm treatment, and her beautiful hair is growing back!
Today, Crysta is a completely different girl. She is happy, social, and incredibly sweet, and she gets along wonderfully with just about everyone she meets. She is great with kids, dogs, cats, chickens, birds, and pigs, this girl truly seems to believe everyone is a friend!
Crysta especially loves other dogs. Running around and playing chase with her canine friends is definitely one of the highlights of her day! She would happily have a doggy companion in her forever home, but she does not need another dog to thrive. She is perfectly content being with her people, too.
Crysta has moderate energy and is a relatively quiet girl. She is potty trained, understands basic commands, and is generally just an easygoing companion. One area she is still learning is on leash walking.
After everything Crysta has been through, seeing her happy, playful, and enjoying life is truly special. She doesn't hold her past against anyone, she's simply grateful to be surrounded by good people, furry friends, and new experiences.
Crysta is the kind of dog who makes life a little sweeter. She's friendly, adaptable, loving, and ready to be someone's loyal companion.

Crysta is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/26/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.

Shelter location

Ruff Start Rescue is a foster-based rescue, meaning no animals are available at the Princeton, MN office for public viewing or adoption. All animals in our care reside in foster homes with few special exceptions for our adoption center animals, who are housed at our partnering facilities temporarily before adoption.
