Description

Meet the Autumn Bakery Puppies

These four, sweet little survivors were found as strays at an incredibly young age. Given how tiny they were when they were found, we suspect they may have been abandoned. They were too young to eat on their own and needed to be bottle-fed by shelter staff until they were old enough to transition to solid food. Thankfully, those days are behind them! All four puppies are now safe, growing, thriving, and showing just how sweet they are. While we don’t know exactly what breeds make up these adorable pups, we suspect there may be some Lab and Husky in the mix. One thing we do know is that they are likely to grow into medium-to-large-sized dogs.

These babies are now at the perfect age to find their families and begin the important journey of training, socialization, and learning how to be confident, well-balanced adult dogs. They’ll need families who are ready for the time, patience, exercise, training, and love that comes with raising a puppy but in return, they have so much love to give! After such a rough start, these four deserve the very best futures. They are safe, they are sweet, and they are ready to find families of their own. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as a forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website!

Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines.

These puppies would do great in a home with...
Cats : Yep!
Dogs : Yep!
Kiddos : Yep!

    Breed info

The Labrador Retriever, often abbreviated to Labrador, is a breed of retriever-gun dog from the United Kingdom that was developed from imported Canadian fishing dogs. The Labrador is one of the most popular dog breeds in a number of countries in the world, particularly in the Western world. A popular disability assistance breed in many countries, Labradors are frequently trained to aid those with blindness or autism, act as a therapy dog, or perform screening and detection work for law enforcement and other official agencies. The breed is best known for their obedience, loyalty, and playful composure. Additionally, they are prized as sporting and hunting dogs. Ancestors include a breed used in Newfoundland as fishing dogs, that would help in bringing in the fishing nets and recapture escaped fish. In the 1830s, the 10th Earl of Home and his nephews the 5th Duke of Buccleuch and Lord John Scott, had imported progenitors of the breed from Newfoundland to Europe for use as gundogs. Another early advocate of these Newfoundland fishing dogs was the 2nd Earl of Malmesbury, who bred them for their expertise in waterfowling. During the 1880s, the 3rd Earl of Malmesbury, the 6th Duke of Buccleuch, and the 12th Earl of Home collaborated to develop and establish the Labrador Retriever breed. The dogs Buccleuch Avon and Buccleuch Ned, given by Malmesbury to Buccleuch, were mated with bitches carrying blood from those originally imported by the 5th Duke and the 10th Earl of Home. The offspring are the ancestors of all modern Labradors.
