Description

Meet Sybil- you know her story, right? Sybil can be as loving and affectionate as can be then...she's done with that can may be ugly. She is best suited for a home where she can have affection on her terms. She is a gorgeous, plush Manx and is litter-trained. She may do best as the only pet with some indoor/outdoor space.

All cats are spayed/neutered, combo tested negative for FeLV/FIV/HW, vaccinated, de-wormed and topically treated for fleas/ticks. Also included in the adoption is 30 days of Pet First Pet Insurance, and Petco's Free Welcome to the Family Program. HCHS is 100% foster and volunteer-based (no staff, no employees). All animals for adoption are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment suitable to your schedule. Our volunteers may be able to help with local transportation. Save a life! ~ADOPT~

Adoption process

Our adoption process involves an application, application review, and adoption fee. You are welcome to visit or ask questions about any of our animals for adoption. Animals are in foster homes and can be met there or at a central location. We encourage all members of your family to meet the potential new addition. All animals receive preventative vaccinations, dewormer and flea/tick medication. We also participate in a pre-adoption spay/neuter program which decreases possible litters as well as expedites the adoption policy for the new family!

Shelter location

Our pets are currently in foster homes. Meeting times and dates, suitable to both the foster and the adopter can be arranged at any time to meet or pick up your new adoption.

    The Manx cat is a breed of domestic cat (Felis catus) originating on the Isle of Man, with a naturally occurring mutation that shortens the tail. Many Manx have a small stub of a tail, but Manx cats are best known as being entirely tailless; this is the most distinguishing characteristic of the breed, along with elongated hind legs and a rounded head. Manx cats come in all coat colours and patterns, though all-white specimens are rare, and the coat range of the original stock was more limited. Long-haired variants are sometimes considered a separate breed, the Cymric. Manx are prized as skilled hunters, and thus have often been sought by farmers with rodent problems, and been a preferred ship's cat breed. They are said to be social, tame and active. An old local term for the cats on their home island is stubbin. Manx have been exhibited in cat shows since the 1800s, with the first known breed standard published in 1903.
