ALL PETS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE DALLAS/FT WORTH METROPLEX MEET AND GREET APPOINTMENTS SET UP WITH PRE-APPROVED APPLICATION ONLY Snickers is an adorable brindle girl who’s full of puppy energy. She enjoys running around the backyard with the other dogs. Her favorite thing to do is chew on her toy and then play a little tug-o-war with whoever will join in the fun. After wearing herself out playing she loves to take a nap on your lap. She sleeps in her kennel at night and is fully housetrained. She is an active pup and is constantly on the go most of the day but she’s all the fun things about a young dog so don’t miss out! Oh, and this sweet girl loves belly rubs! Adoption process

Adoption Prerequisites:
All animals in your home over 6 months of age must be spayed/neutered
All animals in your home must be current on vaccinations
All current/past dogs in your home must be current on heart worm preventative and have a history of providing the medication year round
All adoptions to residents of the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex only
Vet check is required for all adoptions

Our Adoption Process:

Step 1: If you are interested in meeting one of our pets, the first step is to complete an online application by going to roadtrip4paws.com and clicking on the Adopt tab to find a link to our application.

Step 2: After we receive your application, we will review it to ensure it meets our adoption criteria and do a vet check to verify your current and/or past pets are/were spayed/neutered, to date on vaccinations and up to date on heart worm preventative year round.

Step 3: After completing our pre-adoption process and vet check, we will contact you.

Meet and Greet appointments are set up with a pre-approved application only.

    A retriever is a type of gun dog that retrieves game for a hunter. Generally gun dogs are divided into three major classifications: retrievers, flushing spaniels, and pointing breeds. Retrievers were bred primarily to retrieve birds or other prey and return them to the hunter without damage; retrievers are distinguished in that nonslip retrieval is their primary function. As a result, retriever breeds are bred for soft mouths and a great willingness to please, learn, and obey. A soft mouth refers to the willingness of the dog to carry game in its mouth without biting into it. "Hard mouth" is a serious fault in a hunting dog and is very difficult to correct. A hard-mouthed dog renders game unpresentable or at worst inedible. The retriever's willingness to please, patient nature and trainability have made breeds such as the Labrador retriever and Golden retriever popular as a disability assistance dog. The outstanding reputation of the retriever has landed both the Labrador and the Golden retriever among the top 10 best dogs for children and families across the world.
