Description
Taurus is a special boy looking for an extra special home. Taurus is a Terrier mix whose exact breeds we are uncertain of. He is approximately 1 year old. He is an affectionate and protective dog who favors women but can accept a man in his life with a bit of warming up. He was badly treated by a man who left him with numerous injuries including a crushed foot and a broken leg. He is completely healed physically although he did lose a few toes on his foot. It does not slow him down. He will need a little extra tenderness initially until he builds some trust with his new people.
Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well housetrained Taurus is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train.
Taurus’s adoption fee is $325
This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog.
We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Shelter location
We are a Not for Profit, foster and volunteer based private rescue which means we do not have a brick and mortar building to visit our rescue animals. All of our rescues live in an "in home" rescue or with their foster family to provide a safe and quiet family life which in turn makes it easier for them to transition into their forever homes. They receive love and attention, learn how to cohabitate with other dogs and sometimes cats, house training, medical care (if needed), grooming etc.
We process all of our applications to be sure to match up the right family with each of our rescues. Once a match is found, we contact you right away, and set up a meet and greet.
We do not contact you if your application was declined and your family and life style was not the right fit to meet the needs of the rescue pup you applied for.
** Please note that we do not adopt out of the state of Arizona **
During the cooler months, we have Meet and Greets at:
our rescue home base near the 51 Freeway and Greenway road OR Roadrunner Park located at 32nd Street and Cactus conveniently located right off State Route 51 in Phoenix. We work with your schedule, so meetings are done 7 days a week.
