Description

How Peanut arrived:
Peanut was brought in by a community member.

Why Peanut is the one for you:
Peanut is a little nut with a very important motto: friendship is best served one tasty morsel at a time! This toy-collecting sweetheart enjoys gathering treasures, searching for snacks, and tackling activities that keep her brain busy. Her crate sometimes doubles as the headquarters of Peanut's Toy Treasury, where all deposits are accepted in squeaky currency. She picks up on patterns quickly, especially when treats are part of the equation! Winning Peanut's trust is not a race to crack the shell. New people and places can feel scary, and she needs plenty of time, predictable routines, and gentle interactions without pressure. When comfortable, she approaches for treats, accepts brief chin or chest touches, and chooses to rest nearby. Peanut may always have some worries and may never fully enjoy being petted, so her family should appreciate companionship that does not depend on physical affection. Sitting nearby can be its own kind of Peanut butter and togetherness! Peanut needs a home without children under six. For someone who can celebrate small steps, getting to know Peanut could be a wonderfully rewarding slow roast of friendship!

At SDHS:
Peanut has been vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Peanut is now ready for adoption!

    Breed info

Terrier (from the French word terrier [tɛʁje], meaning "burrow") is a type of dog originally bred to hunt vermin. A terrier is a dog of any one of many breeds or landraces of the terrier type, which are typically small, wiry, game, and fearless.[4] Terrier breeds vary greatly in size from just 1 kg (2 lb) to over 32 kg (71 lb) and are usually categorized by size or function. There are five different groups of Terrier, with each group having different shapes and sizes.
