Description

DOB:2/1/2020

Miss Yvonne is a lovely large lady with big personality and even bigger hair. Often called the 'The Most Beautiful Woman in Puppetland”, she is sweet, affectionate, and extremely friendly! She will happily greet you at the door and follow you to wherever the activity is. She is mellow and calm, not easily flustered or frightened by activity. A lover of beauty and fashion, she loves having her fur brushed and hair styled in the the most attractive new hairdos.

She has recently lost some excess weight and not only rediscovered her fabulous hourglass figure, but her young energy! She will play, pounce, and chase toys like a miniature pony prancing through a field. Miss Yvonne would love a home that can keep her exercised, trim and looking fresh! She is good with other kitties of all ages who aren’t bossy, ok with most kids 7+, and would prefer a home with no dogs.

Miss Yvonne is simply the kindest kitty out there and can’t wait to welcome you to our partner Tail Town Adoption Lounge (http://TailTownCats.com) in Pasadena.

If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent.

If you are unable to send an email to the foster parent through the link included above, please contact us and let us know what kitty you're interested in.  You may also fill out our adoption questionnaire to speed up the screening process.  Be sure to name the cat in the CAT PREFERENCE field at the beginning of the questionnaire. If the above links aren't live, our contact form and questionnaire are available on our website at www.kittenrescue.org.

    Breed info

The Turkish Van is a semi-long-haired breed of domestic cat, which was developed in the United Kingdom from a selection of cats obtained from various cities of modern Turkey, especially Southeast Turkey. The breed is rare, and is distinguished by the Van pattern (named for the breed), where the colour is restricted to the head and the tail, and the rest of the cat is white; this is due to the expression of the piebald white spotting gene, a type of partial leucism. A Turkish Van may have blue or amber eyes, or be odd-eyed (having one eye of each colour). The breed has been claimed to be descended from the landrace of usually all-white Van cats (Turkish: Van kedisi), mostly found near Lake Van, though one of the two original breeders' own writings indicate clearly that none of the breed's foundation cats came from the Van area, which has historically been in Armenia. Then called the Turkish Cat, the breed was first recognised as such by a breeder/fancier organisation, the UK-based Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF), in 1969. It was later renamed "Turkish Van" to better distinguish it from the Turkish Angora breed. The term "Turkish Vankedisi" is used by some organisations as a name for all-white specimens of the formal Turkish Van breed, nomenclature easily confused with the Van kedisi landrace cats, which are also often all-white.
