Description
Olaf is a beauty of short white hair with big green eyes! Two year old Olaf has seen his brother, Blizzard and cousin, Puffin adopted and now wants his turn!
Olaf is a very handsome, young cat, born in Feb 2022 who, along with his brother Blizzard and a cousin name Eclipse, were in a home in Charlotte having been caught and neutered as "ferals," but they were not released back to where they lived outside. Thus they all have slight left eartips to designate a "fixed community" cat. FNR took over the task of trying to domesticate them further for adoption and now only Olaf is looking for his own loving home. The other cats are happily making their new adopters VERY HAPPY!!!
An adopter of Olaf must be patient, have a quiet home atmosphere with no children running about and understand that he has been in a multicat setting at FNR, has made progress but still needs time.He would sincerey benefit from a home where he is maybe the only cat or one of only a couple. He is still skittish but gets distracted while eating wet food so his foster can pet him while he ravaneously eats the wet nourishment in a "huddle"with his team of friends eating out of a mulit serving dish.
He is an active cat as he is just coming out of the teenage stage. Olaf, named after Disney's snowman, likes cat trees, circular ball toys, squeezeup treats, and room to do zoomies.
One trick our director swears by is to bring a shy or skitish cat into a human bedroom for the exposure of a human sleeping, breathing, possibly snoring etc. You are spending a good 8 hours sleeping but the cat is getting accostomed to your scent, your breathing and not encountering any rush movements. They are learning to trust you and the transformation is amazing!
